Dr. Joseph Rutkowski received his PhD from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and has studied lymphatic biology and physiology for 20 years focusing on diseases of chronic inflammation and lymphatic insufficiency. How changes in lymphatic function and lymphangiogenesis impact the immune and inflammatory response in adipose tissue and the kidney have been recent questions that his lab is studying in the context of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, kidney injury, lymphedema, and lipedema.
